Zero Waste Plans and Reports

The latest overall plan for campus Zero Waste was prepared in 2020. It lists the basic elements to work toward. Some of the tasks have already been accomplished or are in the works. Others will be updated and broken down into more specific action plans. The Materials Characterization study shows how much of each waste material was found in campus containers.

 

The  major zero waste initiative of the past decade was a dedicated composting facility on campus. The plan for the facility was fully approved at all levels but funding was not available. At this point, the need for such a facility is unclear and a potential site would have to fit into the updated campus Long Range Development Plan.



These reports include plans for zero waste actions as part of the campus overall sustainability planning.
